1881 - they had produced no less than six children in these ten years. They were Ruth and John, who were both at school and the four younger ones Faith, Hannah Mary, David and Sewell.

1901 - (Either) he was a retired butcher and a widower, living with his brother Joseph and his wife Jane Marie at Habrough, Lincolnshire, (Or)he was a retired butcher living at 1 Vermuyden Villas, Carlton Street, Sculcoates, Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire. (a mystery!), with his wife Faith, sons David and Benjamin and daughters Sarah Ellen, Agnes and Susannah.

James married Faith SEWELL, daughter of John SEWELL and Hannah, on 7 Jun 1870. (Faith SEWELL was born on 22 Jul 1845 in Winteringham, Lincolnshire, England, United Kingdom ¹ and died on 2 Mar 1923.)
