Clarence was named after Clarence Smith, Lulu Smith Miers' brother. Clarence Miers' occupation was funeral director and business man. He was part owner in Bybee and Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville, Iowa, and was a salesman in the furniture store. Ethel taught in a rural school when young. Both were active in organizations around town.
Clarence and Ethel died in the nursing home in Knoxville.
Clarence and Ethel are buried in Knoxville, Graceland Cemetry, Marion Co., Iowa, Row 6, S-N, Stone no. 49. and beside Ethel's parents, Belle and Fred Curtis.
