Jeremiah Matthews (War of 1776) and Kesia Alien, Mt. Pleasant, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, son of William Matthews, who emigrated from Wales to Mount Airy (or near by), Hunterdon County, New Jersey, about 1740. His brothers were Henry, William, Joseph, Jesse, and Pierson, and their descendants live at or near Mt. Pleasant, Frenchtown, etc., New Jersey, still. 2
