Nelson Price Whitaker; the youngest child of Mary Elizabeth McDowell and Cecil Newton Whitaker, Price was born in 1873 near Principio Furnace, home of the Whitaker iron works, in Cecil County, Md. In Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pa. on 11-15-1899, Price married Stella McAlpin Rusling (b. 3-15-1874 and d. 1-3-1963 in New York City). Price and Stella had 2 children. Price died in 1922 and both he and Stella are buried in Swan Point Cemetery in Providence, Rhode Island. Malcolm Price Whitaker; the youngest child of Nelson Price Whitaker and Stella McAlpin Rusling, Malcolm was born in 1906. Nothing much is known about him but he is not mentioned in a 1940 family letter from his niece's attorney to some McDowell cousins, so he might have died before then. Katherine Rusling Whitaker; the younger of two children of Nelson Price Whitaker and Stella McAlpin Rusling, Katherine was born in 1908 and possibly named for her aunt, Katherine Eliza Whitaker (b. 1872 and d. 1880). On February 4, 1928, Katherine married Elisha Dyer, Sr. a Rhode Island native and member of a very politically active family.
